James raced in the 2007 gp125 Newcomers class, on a standard 1996 Honda rs125 finishing 6th overall out of approx twenty six starters.
At the start of the 2008 season, James found that he had grown in height so much over previous winter that he couldn't get comfortable when riding the little 125 and so it was sold to purchase a Honda 600rr.
He got a couple of runs before the end of the 2008 season, but really didn't get going on it until the 2009 season.
The 2009 season went very well, James did struggle to qualify in the early rounds, with an average of sixty riders entering for about thirty places on the grid, making it a difficult class to get good results, and by the end of the season James was up in the top ten, and best placing a 6th at Bishopscourt and finishing 17th overall in the Championship.
2010 was a good season, with James regularly in the top five, although missed out on podium finishes due to mostly his bike being some 20bhp down on the other top runners and overall placing 7th.
James only attended a few races in 2011, mostly due to an accident at the Sunflower races in October 2010 leaving him with broken bones in his foot and hand, bike damaged and lack of money, but is looking forward to returning to full glory in 2012.
